Recycling in Rapid City: everything you want to know!
February 23, 2009
|
Please download, use and share our 2009 edition of Recycling in Rapid City: How, What and Where? an SDDIA-RC publication, 2nd. edition, produced in cooperation with local businesses and RC Sold Waste Management.
DIA produced this booklet and distributed thousands of copies last year. The new edition has more addresses and phone numbers for local businesses involved in recycling just about everything recyclable.
Did you know that our Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) at the Rapid City Landfill
sells the following recycled materials:
• Corrugated cardboard
• Newspaper
• Aluminum
• Steel
• Plastic (#1, #2 only — look inside the recycling triangle on the container’s bottom)
During calendar year 2007, the MRF received $445,000 for the sale of those materials—materials recycled by the citizens of Rapid City and its surrounding areas. The MRF estimates that only 25% of the recyclable materials
discarded in Rapid City are recovered and sold. Are you recycling?
