The 2012 RC Chamber of Commerce Crackerbarrels will be held on January 21, February 4, February 11, February 25.
Crackerbarrels are held on several Saturdays during the session from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the South Dakota School of Mines New Classroom Building. Crackerbarrels are free and open to the public.

After sponsoring a forum for mayoral candidates, SDDIA/Rapid City endorsed incumbent Mayor Alan Hanks in the June 28 run-off election. DIA's endorsement lists specific reasons including Hanks' reinstatement of the Human Relation's Commission, support of the Green Cities Task Force, Homeless Coalition, Billboard ballot issue, and his expression of a long-term vision for Rapid City.
